As outlined on the website of the Ministry of Education, the Declaration of Value (Dichiarazione di Valore) is a document certifying the value of an academic qualification obtained in an educational system other than the Italian one. It is issued in Italian and prepared by Italian diplomatic representations abroad (in the UK, by the Education Office of the Consulate) “competent for the area,” i.e., closest to the city where the institution that issued the foreign qualification is located. In this document, the Consulate certifies the value of academic/professional qualifications obtained in the UK with reference to the local education system.

Which Qualifications Can Be Recognized?

Secondary School Qualifications:

• G.C.S.E., Advanced Subsidiary and Advanced Level, Cambridge Pre-U.

First-Level Academic Degrees:

• Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours / Bachelor’s Degrees / Professional Graduate Certificate in Education / Graduate Diplomas / Graduate Certificates / Foundation Degrees / Diplomas of Higher Education / Higher National Diplomas.

Second-Level Academic Degrees:

• Master’s Degrees / Integrated Master’s Degrees / Postgraduate Diplomas / Postgraduate Certificates.
• Postgraduate Certificate of Education / Bachelor of Education.

Third-Level Academic Degrees:

• Doctoral Degrees (e.g., PhD, DPhil, EdD).

Professional Qualifications:

• NVQ (Level 3 to 8), such as beautician, hairdresser, massage therapist, electrician, plumber, etc.

How Can We Help You?

1. Verification, Authentication, and Legalization of Original Documents:
   We will have your document authenticated by one of our trusted notaries (as required by the Consulate, these are UK-based notaries who verify the qualifications and confirm that the institution is accredited in the notarial certificate). The document will then be legalized with an Apostille.
2. Translation:
   We provide certified translations of the qualification in compliance with consular requirements.
3. Submission of Documentation to the Consulate:
   Once we receive all the required documents from you, we will send them to the Consulate via special delivery, including the legalized copy of your qualification and its translation. This will save you the trouble of a separate postal shipment. The Consulate will contact you directly for payment and delivery of the Declaration of Value. Meanwhile, we will return the original qualification to you via tracked international mail or courier.
